I gotta know what the GunDudes call a Great gun movie. Sometimes your in the mood for seeing some shootout action, or serious McClane hero style stuff. I wanna know what to watch when ive got other friends over with the same hobby as me.

Any Western's are good for me. Big Jake and El Dorado are up there with Tombstone and Silverado. If I need a more modern day gun movie I go to the staples. The Die Hard series are always great and I love the Lethal Weapon shows too. but...My favorites are the John Wayne movies.

I think you may be disappointed with "shoot'em up." It feels like it was produced by the brady campaign. The movie revolves around gun control and why it's important and the main characters constantly through out one-liners you have heard before by feinstein and pelosi and the like. There's a scene where the main protagonist sticks his gun in another guys face and says "do you still support the second amendment" and then shoots him. Also the bad guys are the gun industry. The over the top gun fights were cool but the fact that the whole movie was entirely pro-gun control and guns and gun owners are evil, ruined it. The protagonist even blames the bad guy, gun company ceo for the violence caused by gang-bangers. The protagonist even says "you don't need an uzi to go hunting." Terrible movie.

How about Unforgiven with Eastwood being a older retired gunfighter pulling himself together and getting into his old fighting shape. I can relate to this after being away from the gun culture for about 15 years and being older, and now I am in the best gunfighting shape of my life after getting lots of formal training.

For sure, John Woo needs some props. Face off was a good time - I'll bet one of our forum members has that dual gold 1911 setup. Tom?

I just watched one called "Taking Chance" on HBO and it was really good. A real tear jerker.

I kinda liked SWAT... The good guys actually had their fingers off the trigger unless they were on target... you know, like it's done in real life.

I don't know if anyone said this one, but Red Dawn was one of my favorites! WOLVERINES!!! I saw this website called the internet movie firearms database. It's a database of all guns in movies. Pretty cool. http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Main_Page

Got to agree with siglion, HEAT. One of the greatest shootouts in cinema, a plethora of autos, and DeNiro vs. Pacino.
