In Episode 28, I believe it was Mas, mentioned a few enhancements for the Browning Hi-Power made by Cylinder and Slide out of Freemont, Nebraska. Looking at Cylinder and Slide's web site I've been very interested in their Model M2008. The gun is a remake of the classic Colt 1903 Hammerless except it's chambered in 45acp.

I read in an article that only 50 of these are produced each year. Has anyone here had the pleasure to handle or even shoot one of these? I'd love to hear their impressions of this pistol.

I'v handled it but never got a chance to shoot it.  Its a 1903 on steroids.  The proof would be in the shooting.  It seems like there is a lot of mass above the hand but it could be a hoot to shoot..

You guys are going to hate for bringing it up but I can't get over the fact that it looks like a Tokarev TT-33 because both guns were based on the Colt 1903.

A sweet looking gun for sure!  I really dig the old time font on the slide.  A buddy of mine is a big time Colt collector and has several 1903's.  It was Colt's second biggest selling auto behind the 1911, which probably beat out the '03 because of military contracts.  I always thought that was odd till I shot one.  They have terrible sights but shoot waaayyy better than my 1911's of the same period.  We shoot 2'' groups a 25yds all day with them.  Fun little guns!  If the C&S comes anywhere close to the old 1903 it should a hoot.

Mas, I believe I recall a story in your "Big Book of the .45" a number of years back about your grandfather shooting a would be robber at his jewlery store with a then "cutting edge" 1903 or 1908 hammerless? or am I remembering incorrectly?
