I would really appriciate some advice on carring an extra magazine.  I do not like just carring them in my pocket.  I worry about it falling out or down a black hole aka the couch. I was thinking about a multi tool pouch. Thanks guys and gals!

Jeff
Where to carry a spare mag is a PITA. I sometimes carry one in a pocket (but in a leather carrier so that pocket lint doesn't work its way into the first round... which can cause a FTF). The best solution I have found is to bite the bullet... buy a single leather mag carrier... thread it onto your belt just behind the offside hip (IDPA position) and leave it there. When ypou leave the house, put your gun on and stick a mag in the pouch... which is always there. In time you get used to it.

This actually gave me an idea about an idea. Bear with me if this sounds odd.

I wear cowboy boots. All the time. In all weather. Even with a suit.

Over the years I've toyed with the idea of a boot holster and tried to adapt several pocket holsters for a backup gun to no avail.

However..... this could be a great spot to keep the extra mag or two.

Thanks for the input!  This looks promising.  Has anyone tried one of these?  http://www.holstershq.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Catalog=Holsters_Mags&Category=NY_MAG&Prod=BI-7303

Jeff,
I haven't used that pouch, but Bianchi makes good stuff. From the description it looks like something that you could slip onto the belt... leave it empty when you wanted to... or stick a mag in it. It looks comfortable.
