I loved your interview with the CEO of Tiger Light. I've been looking at how I can upgrade my current carry-flashlight, and what pepper-spray I should carry; this looks like the best way to accomplish both (based on part one of your interview).

I visited www.TigerLight.net and all I can say is what a cobbled together, confusing, how-on-earth-do-I-even-buy-anything website.

Wow. There are, what, 4 main models? Then each model has different options. Okay, fair enough, but I have to know exactly what I want before I go looking for it, otherwise I can't find anything. After about an hour I found a series 2 that I think is the one I want, but I can't find dimensions, I can't find the series 3 equivalent, I'm left with a bunch of questions. So many questions that I wasn't confident in making the buy.

My wife is even on-board with the concept and the product, but after about 45 seconds on the Tigerlight website, she was done.

Please pass my comments along. When they get their website so it's usable, have them let me know. Hopefully I won't have purchased somewhere else before then.

Loved the interview too.  I like the concept of flashlight force multiplier and ease of deployment but in the same way you can be carrying the flashlight you can also just carry the spray rather than having to wait to deploy.  This is what I have instructed my wife and daughter on with their Kimber units.  From the video my concern on Tiger (beyond the quality of the site) is it looks spray/mist as opposed to a more stream application and upclose etc what is the chance you are going to oc yourself which I think is the advantage in Kimber units.  The challenge with the Kimber unit is you get two shots then it is time for a whole new unit and even with the quite expensive "reloadable" you get two shots.  I am glad however to see people trying to advance the type of units available and improve on the basic design.

Ah... see? Another reason why their website isn't useful!

After a bunch of digging, it turns out that some (all?) of the Tiger Lights have "stream" or "cone" spray options. The "cone" spray option, they say, works better than the "stream" option.

I agree that the web site needs a bit of work. I called Tiger Light directly the other day and spoke to Michael. He definitely knows his products and can answer any question you might have. The Tiger Light does discharge in a cone pattern. There are 2 models available, the personal size T100 and the service size Series II.

Does this coupon code give a better deal than the $99.96?  I'm thinking of ordering at least one for the wife.  I might get one for myself as well.

They are having a sale at their sight right nowhttp://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.ACCT29212/sc.1/.f $79 for the original units.  I also found that Laser Devices has the t100 (maybe the original manufacturer)http://www.laserdevices.com/product.php?id=153&a=specials found them watching DownRange TV SHOT show reports
They sell the t100 which is the one that looks like traditional flashlight right now for $125 which is a rechargeable Halogen light.

I want to make people aware of something.  I ordered a TigerLight for my sister via the Gun Dude's promotional link and at the end of the checkout process there is a place asking if you want to receive a coupon (I believe it was for $10.00).  It only asks that you enter your e-mail address.

DO NOT TAKE THE OFFER!  If you read the fine print you'll notice by accepting the offer you are also authorizing a monthly charge added to your credit card from Shopper Discounts.

Further details can be found here.  The first comment explains how the scam works.

Tom if you guys have a direct line to the guy you should urge him to remove this from his ordering process.  I believe Shopper Discounts enrolls web sites in this by offering them some kind of kick back without telling them where the money is originating from (Customer credit cards).  Anyways just something everybody should be aware of.  I should also state I ordered this before Christmas and it could be such a thing that this has since been removed.

We are not mentioning tigerlight until we find out more from them about some problems they have been having. We love their product but if they are not dealing right then we won't deal with them.

Really liked the episode on Tigerlight.  Went to the website and watched the video.  I was talking to a co-worker about it.  She said she'd carried her pepper spray for years and never needed it so why would she need Tigerlight?  I asked her if she locked her house when she left for the day.  "Of Course".  Have your been robbed?  "No" Then I asked her if she should stop locking the door since she'd never been robbed.  It got her thinking.

She watched the video and was impressed. She is at least considering getting one. As soon as I can, I will be getting one for myself and my daughter.

It's a great idea to combine both flashlight and pepper spray into one self defense tool.

Dudes, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I'd love to hear an update here  The 'Dudes are one of my favorite podcasts and the Tiger Light sounds like something i could certainly work into my "stash."   Heck, the girlfriend might actually use it (unlike the pepper spray, XD 9mm, and AR15 she has), and that alone would make it worthwhile.

I refuse to do business with a sight that is taking advantage of people by signing folks up for automatic monthly withdrawls - Dear God, that's the worst nightmare of doing business on the 'net.  But, if they have a good product with an honest sight, flash and videos be damned, I'm interested - bonus points for coupon codes....  Grin
