I came up with an idea to help out the GRRN. I took the podcasting explanation and put it on a business size card that I am going to hand out at gun shows. It explains what podcasting is and how to download them. It gives the GRRN website also. I bought a booth at the Birch Run Expo center for Jan. 9th and 10th here in Michigan.
Nobody has to get a booth though, they could leave a stack of these cards at the flyer or giveaway table at the front of each gun show. I think this is a great way to reach people who don't know what podcasting is. I think there are a lot of people out there who know a lot about 2nd amendment issues, but need a little nudge to help them with technology.
I put the artwork on the home page of my site at www.armedcitizenpodcast.com, plus, I put the link to my affiliate Vistaprint next to the post to make it easy for people to find a good (cheap!) card printer. As a bonus, they are my affiliate so some of the money comes right back into the GRRN! That's how I'm paying for this booth!
These cards can be passed out anywhere so they are good to keep with you at all times, include them in the envelope when you pay bills, or even include them with your money when you tip a waitress! Now is the time for the GRRN educational tour, we all can participate!

Good idea Mick.
I have started or responded to some threads on some of the forums I frequent regarding GRRN podcasts.

I also print and hand out a simplified flyer for the GRRN as well as occasionally handing out samples of the different shows on a CD.

Very cool. If we're all doing every thing that we can, we bound to reach a few or even more. Right now I just want to reach supporters who don't even know we exist!

I think that's a great idea. Keep it up. The card design is really nice. I might take some to a show in New Hampshire.

Thanks Max, I hope these can reach those who just don't understand exactly what we do.

Any chance of seeing the card you are going to use?

I really like the GRRN card idea and I really think it looks great.  I went to Vista Print to get some made up and noticed that it allows you to print a second side.  This could be a way to personlize it.  I thought of puting the 4 rules of gun safety on the back.

I wish I would have thought of the rules of gun safety! That will definitely go on my next run of cards. It was great handing these out at my local show, if I reached a dozen or so new listeners, I would be very happy. There is just so many people out there who would listen if they only knew what this network was or even what a podcast is! For every puzzled look I got explaining podcasting, I got at least on enlightened look, so it is something we need to keep educating people about.

Many in the gun community don't think they have to be technically savvy. They are wrong. The next generation will over run us with ignorance and hand away our rights if someone does not reach out and educate them about their rights, and their responsibilities.

Ordered my GRRN Cards Yesterday.  Had some trouble sizing the 4 rules of gun safety to fit on the back.  I finally figured it out.  Can't wait till they get here.  This is really going to be a great opportunity.  Most people like to hand out Business Cards.
