Never used the MOE, but I really like the MIAD.  It fits my hand just right.  Grip is not too rough.  I also like the trigger guard extension(whatever you call it).

Shocked I just noticed that if you look closely, the texture is a bunch of Magpul logos.

Actually, whether or not you look, it still is. Grin

I am not a big fan of the entire MOE series of products from Magpul.  The quality you see in the rest of the Magpul line is not show in any of these products. I am a fan of the MIAD series of grips I have several, and have been very satisfied.  The "Tackyer" grips like the Houge and the ERGO have just never tickled my fancy. The Tango Down I can see as a very useful grip for those with small hands.  The MIAD I feel just offers too many advantages to be looked over.  Reasonable price, excellent texture, storage, the ability to change the size of the grip to suite your hand (and then sell the spare parts on ebay).

I agree. I have a MIAD grip and the last thing I would say it is is "slick" its pretty rough.

I havent tried anyone of Magpuls cheap stuff, so I cant comment.

I can say I love the MIAD tho and I have it on both my carbine and my shotgun.

Well I agree with you about the MOE grip, have it, don't love it, gonna change it out soon.  As for some of the other products in the MOE line they are much better (IMHO).  I have the MOE stock and love it, it is identical to the CTR except for the friction lock and the sling attachment point.  Same material, same build quality, same thing with a few less features (which is the point).  Also have heard nothing but good things about the MOE handguard (except for bikerRN but I think he got his issue fixed).

What issues did you have with the rest of the MOE line?

The MOE series stocks are ok, I do feel that that some is lost by taking away the friction lock, but for the man on a budget it works.  The forend however have yet to impress me, the ergonomics and feel just are not for me.  I guess "quality" is not the best word to use. I am just not a fan of some choices they made with the MOE products, they are perfectly serviceable items.

I can understand that.  Maybe I don't miss the friction lock because my MOE fits really tight on my buffer tube anyway.  If it doesn't work for you then it doesn't work for ya.   Cool

I have the moe handgaurd, other than that the rest of my rifle is the full on normal product line.

I like it, but its in the same class as the stock AR handguard.  worth 29 bucks. I think it has a nice feel, kinda FAL like. easy to mount a light to, good positioning for a thumb break style hold to actuate a rear button flashlight.

A free float handgaurd of some sort is definatly in my future.  I dont think I would give up the friction lock on the stock, but then I use the ACS so, I didnt have a choice.

I like the Miad grip tho, I think $$$ should be spent on ergonomics, it just makes the whole experiance better.

But thats my philosophy for a lot of things.   The "User Interface" is important.  Spend money on a nice keyboard and mouse and LCD screen for your PC, you will notice and appreciate that more than an extra 100 mhz. IMO.
