I'm looking into new semi-auto rifles and I dont know what to get. I've got an AR-15 and an AK-47. Thanks for the input.

. New production Ruger Mini-14 or Mini-30 would be my immediate guess. Or, do you want to up-caliber to .308? Downsize to a 10/22 22LR? Stay with the AR platform and build a varminteer or short barreled rifle? Go retro with a Garand or M-1 Carbine? A .50 BMG thumper? Semi-auto deer gun? Or, just strip down, cover yourself in honey, run into a gun store, and see what sticks? Can you give us a hint of your desires? We CAN spend your money for you.

I was thinking of something out of the ordinary like the msar stg 556 e4 or that bullpup .308 from keltec but I dont know. I was kinda thinkin a bullpup but there isnt much out there for under 2000$. I just want something that not that many people around here have because I love to make them want one. Like I got the competion 10/22 and now everyone that shoots competion with me wants one.

. How 'bout the Steyr Aug clone now in production? Trigger isn't anything to write home about, but they're very interesting and fairly accurate.
[Edit:] Nevermind, you're way ahead of me with the clone. I have shot the Steyr, and it was pretty kewl. Except each translucent 40 round mag cost an eye-watering amount.

?How about a National Match M1A1 - one of the newly made ones with a back lug (like from Fulton Armory).
Try an M1 Garand done my Clint Fowler. The wood alone will knock out all your buddies.

What about a sporterized SKS? Cool looking and will feed anything. Although the triggers on those are pretty bad but a decent gunsmith can do wonders for the trigger.

I'm highly biased. I would rather have a good pistol than an AK or SKS. JMO.

Yup! It's called a sling. You'll probably need a sheet or rug to carry concealed.

I've been thinking my next rifle would be an M1 Garand (because I like history), a Remington Model 700 SPS Stainless (for more power and accuracy), the Les Baer Custom Tactical Recon (for even more power and accuracy), or an XCR like this one ( http://xcrforum.com/index.php?topic=1260.0%3Ball). That XCR is just plain sexy. Oh wait, this thread is about what you want...

Dude its cool cause I wanted peoples input on it. Just wondering to but has anyone heard, shot, or owned a mosin nagant m38 carbine. Now my needs and wants changed since watching Defiance (great movie) and all they had was Tokeravs (i think thats how you spell it), Mosin Nagants 91/30s, a couple MP-40s, and DP-28s.

I went to the gun shop and went with a Tula armory refinished rifle, and I gotta say that thing blows prari dogs away.

I like the Saiga 7.62 x 39mm
We picked one up with the skeleton stock for $350 - excellent gun - although she kicks a bit with surplus ammo - the reloads are smooth as silk though.
