Florida CCP Renewals

There was a post several moths ago that mentioned the backlog (~95,000 IIRC) for concealed carry permit issuance/renewals in Florida. Well, apparently they've cleared some of those out or I have clout I never knew - my renewal came back in a little over 2 weeks! I'm good to go until 2017.

The FL renewals have usually been processed fairly quickly.  Even at the worst of the backlog, they were generally running about 2-3 weeks.  The good news now is that new applications are again being processed in a timely manner, and folks are reporting receiving their first licenses in as little as 3-4 weeks.  Some have received them even faster, if they were in a position to hand carry the applications to one of the FL DOACS field offices.  Apparently, the backlog has been greatly reduced.  There are still some reported delays as a result of the "Live Scan" computerized fingerprint processing system, but that too seems to be returning to normal.  All welcome news, of course.
