I get ideas for episodes.  Usually, I will post them under a particular podcast where I think the topic would be best received.  So far, I have only done this for Practical Defense and ProArms, but what if other shows might like my ideas or the ideas of other listeners?

What would you, the podcaster, think about posting them under the General forum for just anyone to pick up if you choose to? I can see there is no lack of content (17 shows?!).

I suppose we, the audience, would need a standard format; such as, "Episode request: (topic)" in the subject.

Anyway, big fan of the GRRN and just trying to think of ways to add content so that people pay!

Well, I, for one, enjoy your input and also like it in my forum. Makes it easy to find.

I don't follow the General forum in particular, I just scan the most recent posts and pick items of interest from there.

Sorry I've been positively swamped as of late and barely have the time to pop onto these very forums (Let along get an episode out).

Anyways I like the idea for show suggestions (In fact I ask for them every episode in the form of anti-gun articles).  I don't see any problem with posting episode ideas in the general forum but it would make a bit of a grab bag issue.  Most of the shows cover similar topics at some point or another so determining who would take an episode idea could be a bit of a mess.  Then again you're assuming we're organized here (OK everybody else probably is, I'm not).

I say post ideas away and see what happens.

The commercial says the forums are a great way to talk with the listeners, and while that is true for some, it doesn't seem as true for others.  To me, it seems some sub-forums are more active than others.  Like some have said it is their show, but if you aren't going to participate on the forums why advertise it?

I think you can generally get a reply from some of us, and even know who to expect will pop up in a thread eventually.  Alex does a great job, for example.  And where else can you get an answer to a question from Massad Ayoob?

But sometimes there's this big ol' open-ended question not addressed to anyone in particular...  In my NRA instructor classes, we were taught not to do "shotgun" questions but to pick a student and hit them with a "rifle" question.  Otherwise, if somebody doesn't really have an answer or is waiting for somebody else to pipe up first, it just becomes a room of crickets chirping.  Make sense?

It's not that we're ignoring the forums (well, maybe the GunDudes are...lol), so much as sometimes not answering seems more prudent than giving an answer that doesn't say anything.  I prefer to leave that to the politicians.  LOL.

Wow, I just saw this thread, which I guess proves that I don't always look under the "General" category. I love suggestions for the ProArms Podcast and just because you haven't seen your topic yet doesn't mean that it's not on our list. We kinda do things as they are timely, which sometimes means that we may want to do a topic or something supercedes it. I hate to admit how much stuff I have recorded but haven't posted yet.  So keep the suggestions coming on the ProArms board, we all check it.
