Where abouts?

I can lay down some covering fire if you're in Long Beach.

Well, at least the bangers are on an even footing with us. After all, they're limited to semi-automatics and ten round mags too, right?

And no felon would dare touch a gun, right?  Right?

And it's not like 59,000 of their violent felonious compadres were released without even a parole period, right?  Right?  RIGHT???

This thing on.....?

Great responses! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. All I know is that there can be no crime here in Pelosiland because I think she declared crime illegal. Phew, I'll sleep better tonight!

Also, the Johnny Rocket burgers are awesome, kudo's to employees. If you ever get a chance, get a strawberry malt, amazing!

Oh, man, you want iconic SoCal?  Tommy's Burgers in the Rampart District near USC. Get a double chili-cheese.  To die for!

And in that area, it's a distinct possibility.

Finally a topic that I know something about.  I didn't get this svelte waistline by eatin' Brussels Sprouts.

Ruby's Burgers http://www.rubys.com/index.aspx are pretty damn wonderful.  Plus they have restaurants on the ends of several SoCal piers. A great burger and view!  What's more to like?

Although, in the spirit of open and honest communication, I have to report favorably on a interloper from the Frozen East: Five Guys Burgers http://www.fiveguys.com/home.aspx  Found them on a business trip to DC.  Really glad I could leave their addictive calories back there.  Then the bastiches open one about 3 miles from my house.   Thank Dog it's on the other side of the freeway...

Lot's of good suggestions! I tell you what though. I just had a Choriza Quesadilla at Mamita's Kitchen on Beach street...only 6 bucks, and this was fantastic. Normally I'm not a huge fan of your typical Mexican cuisine, but this was top notch, viva grubbin!

I should talk: I played "Refrigerator Raffle" last night and won, big time.  I'm home nursing a very unhappy stomach.

Did you make it out alive?

The People's Republic can be rough on foreigners...

Sorry I'm so late to this thread. My little bit of advice would be that if anyone made eye contact or said, "Hello," to you on the street it meant they wanted something or were sizing you up for a robbery.  Tongue  Honest citizens just ignore you and walk on by (especially if you need help).

Yeah, I made it through okay. I didn't venture out too much at night, and when I did, I wore my new cologne "Bronson".

It's fun to visit for a week, but I'll stick to Michigan. The cold sucks, but the cold stares of anti-gunners in S. F. is much colder!

I'm a little late to this too but I wanted to warn you Mick, don't ever ever,no matter what, try to find out what is in churrizo. I like it, but after I found out what's in it it was a loong time before I could eat it again.

Just trying to help

Alex,
When I walk down the street I look everyone in the eye as it's an excellant way to not walk into people.  I'm sorry where you live has made life so jaded.  Tonight, however, I will memorize your picture so I can cross the street or find cover if I spot you first. Smiley
