What load are the factory fixed sights on a Glock 22 set for 155gr or 180gr?

Since no one else has replied I'll toss my .02c in. Probably for the 180 grain, but don't count on it shooting to precise (center bullesye) just because you load it with 180 grain bullets. Differing loads, in the same bullet weight, can have slightly differing points of impact. As far as individual shooters go, with the same gun & load go, it's not at all uncommon for two very good shooters to place good groups at two different points on the target. It depends upon their grip on the handgun. The handgun will begin recoiling while the bullet is still in the barrel. The degree of grip pressure determines how far the gun will recoil, and where the bullets will go. You need to see where the gun shoots for you, with your grip. Don't depend on what the factory says.... they're not shooting the gun.... you are.

Thanks Chris. I think this is why people sometimes choose adjustable sights so they can customize their ammo and individual shooting to match point of aim to point of impact. Adjustable sights sounds worth paying extra for.

Mario,
Adjustable sights are great... especially for competition guns....all my match guns have adjustable sights. Fixed sights are also great... especially for carry guns. The chances of them getting knocked out of whack through normal carry banging around (or just breaking under repeated recoil) are about nill. My four guns that rotate for carry duty all have fixed sights. But, I have taken the time with them to determine the EXACT load I will use... zero the sights for that load.. and then find out what other good SD loads hit close enough to POA to interchange. It takes some time, and a bit of knowledge. Maybe I'll do a Pro Arms News & Views blog piece on "zeroing" fixed sights. That'll make Gail happy.
If you have fixed sights properly zeroed, I would prefer (and do use them) for concealed carry. For competition, I'll spend the extra money for adjustable sights... for reasons that are too complicated to go into here.

And cause Chris didn't mention it.. again Grin make sure you are consistently getting tight groups where you know which way to adjust the sights. I liked Chris's analogy of trying to adjust your sites before you get consistent groups with a gun is like a dog chasing its tail.
