Yes.  Good luck everyone who is competing.  Shoot straight and true and bring the Glory back to Live Oak!  I'm there in spirt.

I just got a call from my animals and the match is over and everybody is on his/her way home. I have no info on the overall results except a couple of my people, but they did have fun.

They had junior shooters which I consider a great thing for our sport.

PS: I was told by a source that Gail got a pink pistol in the raffle... don't tell anyone!

Hey, Miggy --

Glad your guys did good. The stuff you and your people came up with for stage design was devilishly difficult! Cry

We were as happy as you to see the emphasis they put on Junior shooters, and how "Junior-friendly" the match was in terms of sponsorship! Way to go, host club! (Wyoming Antelope Club, Clearwater.)

On our end, none of us did as well as we wanted but all of us had a blast. Great match, great people.

Brother Strayer was the Most Accurate Shooter of the match, among some truly great World Class Master shooters.

Miggy, you GOTTA make it next year!

Resolving to shoot better,

Mas

And believe it or not, it was scaled down some 60%. Originally it included some sensory overload stuff in an enclosed space (Heat, humidity, Sounds, shooting platform off plumb in 3 axis.) But we were informed that it was a tad much.

Miggy, you GOTTA make it next year!

I do hope so! Grin

Steve, any given month you can shoot 3 idpa matches within 3 counties. One in Monroe Co (Key Largo) the first Saturday of the month, one in Miami-dade Co (Trail Glades) on the second saturday,  one the fourth Saturday in Broward County (Markham park). If you feel like driving a bit, there is one one in Port Malabar (Brevard Co) on the fourth Sunday.

Texas is about the same or more intense from what I read. I think is Houston that has 2 IDPA clubs?

We have a match every month plus there are two other clubs within driving distance so I'm pretty good there.... However... we have snow. Lots of snow. I hate snow. I grew up on the East side of Lake Michigan and now I live 82 miles west on the other side of Lake Michigan. I love the lake but I hate lake effect snow.

I need to move somewhere that I can shoot outdoors all year round... and still be near water.

Have we mentioned yet that Florida accepts refugees?

....and we have water on 3 out of 4 sides of the state, so you're never more than an hour from the ocean. And we have more lakes than any other state (don't tell Minnesota, they'll start whining and crying)...

They are outdoor covered bays. they built them last year and they are really nice. The club is very close to a residential area and an airport, hence the covered bays.

I came across this picture of our squad taken after we shot our last stage and was wondering what to put on the sign John is holding:

Gail,

"Where's GOF's beer?"
Although I kinda like the AARP one... I felt that way. Especially since the match was over and I didn't have a beer.

Thank you Matt G... it's nice to know that you young fellas still care about us "Seasoned Citizens". We do need special care & handling. Actually, I hate the taste of beer and it is difficult to drink it. But, it does help my arthritis, and general aches & pains. I consider it to be used for "medicinal purposes only". But, at my age I seem to require a lot of medicine.
