Hello Everyone,

While browsing at the local gun shop this past weekend I was comparing the new American made AUGs from MSAR and Steyr.  In comparing them I could not help but notice the price difference of about $400 to $500.

How has the collective experience been from the ProArms Team as well as the board's rifle enthusiasts on these new version of a classic design?

Thank you for the input.

I've got an MSAR E4.  I've been surprised by it...I didn't think I'd like bullpups but wanted to try one out.  It is incredibly handy, I love that the compactness of it.  Muzzle rise is less than an AR due to the geometry.  The trigger has surprised me...much better than I thought.

Mine had a few minor troubles in the first few 100 rounds but MSAR customer service is impecable.  They bend over backwards for you.  All troubles are gone.  Bullpups won't replace traditional rifles in my safe but I appreciate them when pure compactness is required.

As for Steyr vs MSAR, MSAR has continually product improved the rifle and are being very innovative and responsive to customer requests.  The company is reputable (Microtech knives are their background).  If you absolutely must have a Steyr, buy it.  But I wouldn't hesitate geting the MSAR.

Also, I made a podcast review of the rifle.  Take a listen, let me know what you think

Really cool guns to go have some fun at the range with, but keep in mind that during "tactical" use of a rifle you switch sides when going around right corners. i.e. a right handed person would switch to the left shoulder for a right turn around a corner. Hot brass in the face ain't a good time. I have seen guys cant the rifle to eject downwards when firing from the left shoulder, but accuracy suffers, and it forces your elbow out.

Don't get me wrong, I'll shoot any bullpup I can get my hands on. We get them in the shop from time to time, and we have a couple in the vault. But I shoot em strictly right handed, and only for a good time. Just some food for thought.

Mike's right...the weak side technique is to cant the gun down.  Sub-optimal at best.

That is certainly the attraction of the down (P90) or forward (RFB, FS2000) ejecting guns
