My husband and I started listening to the GunDudes recently and I love them!!  I was wondering if there are any other gals who also listen.  I love my guns and my husband and this gives us a hobby that we can both enjoy doing together.  I enjoy going to the shooting range, indoor and outdoor, and shooting sporting clays as well.

After looking at these discussions, I think we may need to band together :  )

Kelly, I listen as well. Sometimes with my husband and, believe it or not, sometimes by myself. You see, he makes it hard to hear when he's laughing so dang loud. Just recently he and I became range officers at our local outdoor range. I feel strongly about there being women shooters and range officers visible to help other ladies be comfortable on the range.

Perhaps that applies here as well  Wink

Kelly its always good to have more women involved. And after meeting Deb, it was good to hear she was helping out at her local range. It does help when a women new to the sport comes out to shoot, to have another female show them the ropes.   Hi Deb     Terri from the Proarms Podcast

Hi Kelly,
When I started listening to The Gundudes, I downloaded all the past episodes and started with no. 1. Now I listen to the Dudes and have corrupted about a dozen others, including my son and daughter. Their insanity helps keep me sane at work.  Love the show.  (I still have all the episodes on my mp3 player and when I get down, I listen to random ones and get laughing again.  Grin Be sure to check out the other podcasts on GRRN too. There is so much out there to learn, but no one else makes me laugh like Carl, Tommy and Stan.
I shoot mostly handguns and some rifle. But today I had the pleasure to help some ladies start with shotguns at our Women on Target group.  It was so great to introduce these ladies, all new shooters, to the sport and watch them light up when they hit the clays. They each shot about 50 rounds, alot for first timers with 12 gauge. But gas operated shotguns and low recoil ammo helped.  They all had a great time and 2 of the 5 signed up for the pistol/rifle clinic next week.
Shooting is positively addictive! Good thing the government hasn't figured out how to require a narcotic prescription for shooting since I think we're all shooting junkies. (shhhh, Hope they're not listening. We could all be in trouble)
Keep the lead going down range.

Somehow I'd hoped this thread would have gone a little further than 3 responses. So I'm bringing it to the top of the list again.

Terri - yes I'm getting very involved at my range. They've started women's group there, WOW (Women Of WAC - Wyoming Antelope Club... Florida Chapter), and are focusing on personal defense. Our leader had a fella come by in a red man suit and let us beat him up. That was fun.  Wink They also taught us how to beat him up, I guess that was the real point.

We just had an all girl fun shoot this Saturday. We brought a variety of weapons in and let everyone shoot whatever they wanted to try out. I also shared some pointers from the Babes With Bullets camp I attended to help them with their grip and stance.

By the way there will be a Babes With Bullets camp at the WAC October 20-22 if there's anyone interested http:\\www.bang-inc.com

Deb it is so good to hear how busy you have been getting things going to get women ou to the range. Right now the only thing we have had time for was some classes to teach new shooters, men and women. And a few private classes for a few women. I think alot of women would have enjoyed beating up the red man. Keep up the good work.   Terri

I started listening to the Dudes about a year ago, when I was starting the application process for my CA CCW.  I have been going to the range since I was little.  (Dad was an Army Colonel)  In the past my sister & myself were the only female shooters at the range and the cops who were always at the range would come over & watch & shake their head in disbelief.  I guess because they couldn’t shoot they thought a girl couldn’t either!  When I go to the range now, there is another women shooting about ½ the time.  A big improvement!

My husband was thrilled to find out I was a better shot then him with a pistol– he took me dove hunting after 2 months of dating.

Kathy – thank you for ProArms #45.  Great episode.
