New URL for Podcast

It seems that our old site is no longer accessible and I am locked out of my account so be sure to visit us at:

The new feed is still pending at iTunes, this did not turn out to be as smooth a transition as I had hoped for but it was long overdue.

In the meantime all the the episodes linked here are working but I don't know for how long that will continue.

I have been making improvements, one which you notice is I am trying to make the files smaller. In the past the file size was pretty large because of technical issues with some peoples computers and the podcast player I was using. I have made the last couple of podcasts much smaller and I have received no complaints (or thanks either Miggy, you only asked me about this 6 months ago,  ) So, If I don't get people unable to listen to the podcast I will keep the files small.

I will be posting two episodes today, 48 & 49.

Episode 48 was posted last Sunday and you may have heard it, if you went to our homepage. I didn't get it posted up here in time because it's been a hectic week. I edited the audio and put the episode together in the car on our way home from Chicago on Sunday and posted it when we got home, I was too tired to do the shownotes or the posting but the audio was up!  We had one day at home to unpack and pack the car before heading off to Orlando so I could attend Photoshop World (cool!). We rushed home Friday night so we could be at the ProArms Open House on Saturday (big fun!) Did I mention my daughter had a baby on Tuesday?  So I hope everyone will download and listen to both episodes, they complement each other.

Something I don't think Gail has had time to post yet is that, for some reason, our Podbean feed is not working (again).  As a result, the only podcasts that are available are the ones at http://proarmspodcast.com/  That will be numbers 42 through 49 (which will be posted soon).  All the others are apparently trapped in Podbean limbo until Gail can rescue them and re-post them at the new site.  That, of course, will take some time.  We are sorry about the technical difficulties, but she is working on all of it as her schedule permits. 

In the meantime, even GOF won't set foot in Live Oak!

On another note, those of you who access the podcast through iTunes need to go to the iTunes store and resubscribe to the new feed, which is "The ProArms Podcast."  Look for the photo of Jon's Blue Flame XDm.  The old feed no longer works.

Gail, you are an amazing and accomplished Pod Mistress. I've done nothing more than complain and you have found the solutions and implemented them.

There is nothing more difficult that recording in a remote location. You can't control the environment, the acoustics generally suck, and your subject is usually in a hurry or working withing a tight time frame. Yet Gail has produced & recorded some fantastic interviews in both quality and content.

       That's very nice of you to say those things. I don't forget how much you have helped, nagged and encouraged me to improve, you have helped me a lot along the way. I learned more about recording from you than anywhere else.

       The older episodes will get posted to the new server as my time allows. I will compress them all down smaller too, before I upload them, I am limited on how much I can upload every month so it may be one or two at a time until I catch up.

     Thanks everyone for all their patience and kindness.

     when this is all done Miggy and I will go back to antagonizing each other. (Ok, maybe sooner than that)

I can download 001, 002, 003, 047, and 048.  042-046 show up on the website and itunes but downloading fails. 
I've been trying to download every day for the last 4 or 5 days.

Btw, 047 and 048 are excellent.  I wish I had sampled your podcast ages ago.

Why don't you load all podcasts (1-49) on the URL, so we can maintain an up to date library on our MP3 player? Without offending anyone, I'd be glad to send donations to help hire a tech firm to keep this system up and running, unless Gail enjoys all the hassles.  Dave

As far as iTunes is concerned we are a new podcast, that was the only way to do it since the old episodes weren't accessible.
We even made it to the "New and Noteworthy" in the iTunes store.

Does anyone have issues with Itunes version 9.1.1.12 subscribing to new podcasts?  It won't let me download the shows.
