I got an email from a guy who said he's not going to listen anymore because of my Christian viewpoints. He seemed quite upset. I only talk about Christ so much because it is part of who I am and because I think the show would not sound genuine if I did not speak from my heart. I have a lot of non-Christian listeners who are more open-minded about it and I appreciate them. It's just really sad that people can be so bothered by just mentioning God. The show is a podcast, and I think if the listener did not want to hear my viewpoints they can skip over them and find the AC stories. I don't always listen to some parts of the other shows, I don't understand why this listener just can't skip ahead.

I'm glad that I have Christian and non-Christian listeners, and I just want to thank all of you for listening. It is a real encouragement.
I love making my show, and as long as I'm having fun and being myself, I will keep making it.

Keep at it Mick, if all the podcasts were the same, we would only have to listen to one.  I personally enjoy the good variety here at the GRRN, always something for the mood I am in.

It's ur shtick. U should stick to it. There will always be those who disagree with how you are doing something. Let them. Only when you find that no one or only scary people listen to you should you worry.

I agree with that, everyone should be judged by their character. I've always said I enjoy hearing from all points of view on the show, I think it keeps things interesting. I do get myself in trouble sometimes with my sense of humor though...

Well Mick, it's your show, run it how you see fit. Something most people seem to forget is that the pod casters are doing this for themselves as well as their listener. Keep being true to your views, and let the people who don't like it weed themselves out.

And I didn't get the vibe SirBrass was making a blanket statement about non-believers, just the ones that act like the jackass who emailed you.

We were given the freedom of choice, he does not have to choose to listen to you. Keep up the good work. I for one understand that a lot of personal time goes into creating these podcast, I have read the many post in support of your podcast, I hope you see that you are well thought of here.

Mick,

Keep it up! I enjoy it. It is refreshing to hear how open and honest you are about Christ. You have the freedom to talk about Jesus and he has the freedom not to listen. That is what makes this country great. Don't change!!!

No, I'm saying that folks that react like that one person did show their true colors

Ah.  Well one can certainly agree with that sentiment.

I agree Sir Brass.  Grin

I know I ask for negative feedback sometimes, even from people like this anti-christian listener, but I always hope to hear more constructive criticism.
I always mention on the show that my views do not always reflect the rest of the podcasters, and certainly not of all my listeners. I talk to
the listeners like I talk to all my friends, that's why I enjoy it. That's why I like Eric Shelton's Handgun podcast. Listening to him is like sitting across
the gun counter at my gun store and shooting the breeze with an employee, very casual.

I do stuff like Undead Ted because it makes me laugh, sometimes it even makes a point that a serious discussion doesn't seem to get across. Listeners who
get upset when I play a Christian song just baffle me, I mean, just like Undead Ted, they don't have to listen. I know the shows focus is the stories, I love them too.
But, I think the show is more than that, and that keeps it fun for me, and I'll always talk about God on my show because I love Him. Period.

Mick, it's not just you per se they are railing against.  It is that you by your profession expose them to the light.  The apostle John has things to say about what men whose hearts are in spiritual darkness hate, and one of those things is having that darkness exposed by light, including the light of a believer's profession in Christ.

As Christ said, blessed are you when people persecute you because of HIM.  They hate you (or they say they hate your public profession of Him) because they first hated (or rejected... it is essentially the same thing, as Paul reveals in the first few chapters of Romans) Him.

So keep the sturdy spine there, brother.  As Christians, we have biblical reason for why we (that is, those of us here) are armed.  We shouldn't just keep those reasons hidden just because others who are also law-abiding gun carriers don't like to hear it.
