I can see this causing someone to DIE because they forgot they had that in there and they did as they had practiced instead... OR, while racking the slide TWICE, they get shot because they didn't have a ready firearm.  It would be QUICKER to grab a full mag, no "safety bullets", and load it into an empty gun and charge the slide and engage than it would be to use these "safety bullets."

This is a problem looking to be a solution.  I hope this product fails.

It's time to nut up or shut up.

I agree Jamie. In an emergency situation the last thing I want is for my firearm to jam like shown in the video. I can see someone getting killed while trying to find something to ram down the barrel of their now useless handgun. I like the way he keeps ramming that rod into the barrel, that's got to be good for the barrel. I see lawsuits coming from this. I'm going to pass on this one.

Wow!  It amazes me that people actually come up with this stuff and think it's a good idea.  But, people will buy them because people are ______ (fill in the blank).  I can see these being required in California as soon as the idiots in our legislature hear about them.  Maybe they should issue them to all the prisoners California has recently released because of budget problems.

I thought the first rule of a gunfight was to have a gun!  With these, you might as well carry a rock for protection.  The rock would be easier to throw.

I think I just had an idea!  The self-defense rock!  (Memo to self-Need a catchy name-something like Rock N' Roll, Safety Rock, Rock of Ages-give me some help).  Buy a yard of river rock (the nice, round 1-1-1/2 inch stuff, print some directions (open box, remove projectile of your choice (I'm thinking a package of 3 or 4) with your dominant hand (very important), move dominant arm to rear, aim at assailant with AK-47, then with smooth, rapid forward motion, release the [catchy name inserted here] at appropriate time and watch assailant with AK-47 surrender.  Figure $50 per yard for the rock.  If my match is correct, should give about 30,000 [catchy name here] (just a guess-allowing for air, and size variation), at 3 to a box is 10,000 should give us a cost of about 1/2 cent, plus box ($1.00), instructions ($.10) and we have a total cost of $1.105 per unit.  At say $15.95 (plus shipping and handling of $6.95), final price is $22.90.  Should be able to mail them (Memo to self-check postal regulations on shipping personal protection devices) for $1.00 or so, and we have a profit of $20.795 per box.  Remember the 10,000 boxes.  Gross profit should be about $207,950 per yard of gravel.  Anyone want in on this?  I need marketing and distribution help.

What has the world (our just our country) come too?  Again, Wow!

How about "Rock of Beatings" or, "The SDR [self defense rock], personal defense bludgeoner.  Newest innovation in self defense technology!" (and forget to mention that the club is one of the oldest known human weapons)

Catering to people who own guns and are scared of them.  They are marketing on fear.

yeah but wouldn't directing people to a gun safe be better than giving them a dangerous false sense of safety?

Yeah but some basic training would help more than just putting the gun up.

I agree... I am just saying directing them to a device that can safely secure the firearm with out rendering it useless for your defense would be better.  training is also obviously needed.

I guess I will also go on record as saying that he has poor handling habits... his booger hook was ALL over that bang switch, and I lost count on how many times the camera/cameraman(or woman) was swept by the muzzle.  I think in his case, he NEEDS the safety bullet. Wink
