The shipping FFL dealer has taken possession of the rifle and I have received the following e-mail from him today.
Did inform him that rifle would not need to be shipped until after the winner is selected in January.
------------------------
Dear Mark,
Good p.m. and may this find Well, You - and All with You. Thank you, for the contact info.
When I ship this rifle, I will alert the receiving licensee, that the factory-original box also needs to be handled with great care, as it adds value. I will pack this rifle very carefully, using a foam block to protect the muzzle crown.
I will pack this rifle and factory-supplied box, in an interior box, and "float" that box on foam blocks, inside an outer shipping carton. It would be well if You could ask the receiving licensee, to put the factory box back into the interior box, after s/he has logged-in the rifle.
Even better, would be leaving the shipping carton sealed, until You come to collect it. BATFE regulations allow a licensee up to a week to enter the rifle onto his/her bound book, if: (a) shipping documents are supplied, that describe, in detail, the weapon [they will be] and (b) those documents are stored apart from the licensee's other business records. Thus, if you can be quick to collect this rifle, the receiving licensee can leave it in the sealed shipping carton. That will reduce to near zero, the risk of damage, after it reaches the receiving licensee's premises.
Hope this helps.
With every warm, best wish, I remain,
Yours faithfully,
Jay E.

I've been procrastinating on sending $$$ to GRRN. Many props to the podcasters. I've sent the donation, now I just need to find the receipt off my wife's email In my gun stable, live two Winchesters: Model 88 in 284 Winchester and a Model 94 from the turn of the century. I'm afraid to use that second one while hunting.

It's only 8 days away now before the drawing and we only need two more entries so that the drawing does not get delayed by a month. That means if we only get 22 entries your odds of winning are extremely good, much better than the lottery.
If you have paid $24 the subscription or have made a donation to the network that is $24 or more and you have not received a entry number and you want to be in the drawing. Make sure you have forwarded me the correct information before January 31.
Winner will be announced by entry number & forum username.

Monday is the drawing so need to make sure that you have received confirmation of your entry. You should have received an e-mail that said "Your entry number is xxx" if you do not receive that e-mail please check your spam e-mail folder first, then if you still cannot find it please follow the directions again and send a new e-mail.
If you have received a confirmation number, you are entered so please do not e-mail asking if you are entered. I don't have time to go back through all the entries if you've already received one.
Almost forgot one more thing. If you signed up for a subscription and made a donation of $24 or more. You are entitled to two entries and if I did not send you a second entry please contact me and make me aware of it by sending in both of your receipts.
Good luck to you all and I hope the winner will post pictures of himself or herself shooting their new gun.
Thank you,
|

There's still time to get your entry in. The drawing will be in about one hour and half and I will be doing a screen capture of the actual drawing. Will post it soon after 10 o'clock Eastern time.
