Hey, who's the fat old guy shooting my pistol?

« on: December 08, 2008, 05:47:45 AM »

Gail, Excellent episode. My favorite and most memorable Christmas presents have been firearms. A crossman in kindergarten, a .410 in second grade, my first rifle when I was in 6th grade. You probably came up with Taser's next sales pitch. "Nothing says Christmas like a Taser!" Maybe they'll give you a cut of the sales. Merry Christmas to all you guys at Proarms. -Kevin

Thanks Kevin,

That was a fun episode. I could use a cut of Taser's profits.  Wink

Glad to see you on the forum.

Merry Christmas to you too.

I know, I screwed up the link to the joke and still have not fixed it.

As to the longest tease ever, you don't know my High School boyfriend do you?  Grin

We keep planning the Crimson Trace episode as our "next" episode and then something else comes up that we decide to do instead. i promise we will do it in 2009.

Yeah, that was me after the last one!  Angry  Remember when you said Bud appreciated the 1.67 seconds I gave him on the follow up shot? Dipstick beat me by 1.75 total. It's those little things that add up. But there was another one there that took us both down by a solid 5 seconds. He's my new target.

By the way, tell Mr. Roger that baby looks just like Jason. Grin

Well, Kevin, your post may be the final thing it takes to get Jason to come to one of the matches...if only to kick your butt.

In the immortal words attributed to a Japanese commander circa 12/7/41, "I fear we have awakened the sleeping giant."

Wait, did I say "we"Huh   Shocked

I meant, "Kevin"!  KEVIN said it!   KEVIN, I tell you... Roll Eyes

Jason doesn't scare me. First off, He's not classified, so he technically is not shooting against me. secondly, once he classifies, IF he classifies (and can get his rear sight to stay on that Kimber), he'll be so far over my head that it's YOU GUYS he shooting against, not me. Bud and I will wallow here in the mire known as "marksman" for all eternity.

But he does look like that baby, doesn't he!

Sorry, Gail. I have a tendency to stray to the dark side, and I'll drag as many with me as I can. BWAHAHAHAHAHA (evil genious laughter).

As for goading Jason into shooting with us, I try every month, to no avail. He's all wrapped up in the custom knife making right now. Making some beautiful knives. I'll try again for January's match.

I think he's scared of my "Smokey Tumblers (tm)".

In think Jason is more scared of the lead and oil poisoning. You do remember he has small children at home.
We won't even discuss the real reason he is not getting to the matches.

That's what I meant! Besides the fact that you never know where one my bullets is going, no matter which direction it may be pointed when the gun goes bang. I've had some of them boomerang around and hit targets two bays over.

He'll be a heck of a competitor if we can ever get him to come with us. Seriously.
He is really into the knifemaking right now. We haven't shot together in probably 3 months or better. Sucks for me 'cause I always pick up good tips & technique from him.

Check out his website at clarkcustomknives.com.  Nice damascus folder he just finished up. All 100% handmade in his shop. Pretty cool stuff. I still wish he'd come shoot with us though.
