As much good news we got last night nationwide, CA was a disaster. A failed governor from 30 years ago re-elected, Gavin Newsom Lt. Governor, and a number of economically disastrous propositions passed (at least pot wasn't legalized). If I didn't have my own business I'd be packing up now for AZ.

Worst of all, even though we've recently gained some ground, I'm sure it's safe to assume there will not be any pro-gun legislation getting past the governor's desk.

It just amazes me how clueless the electorate here. I had a client I was talking to a couple weeks ago who didn't know that Brown was governor before. These people don't even make an attempt to get informed!  That's only a small part of it, I'm convinced that the people of this once-great state have been lobotomized.

I just need to vent. I've gotta get to the range!

Yeah MA was no picnic either.  Somehow Coupe Devall was re ellected.
And this state really seemed to be moving in the right direction.

Sad face.

Well, maybe if his opponent hadn't talked about how great Cali was when he was governor 30 years ago...

Next time we'll re-elect Gray Davis!

Apparently we don't need to legalize marijuana in California, everyone is already stoned.

.
I'm afraid the public sector unions and the indigent eaters have built a unassailable coalition in Cal.

I thought, with all we had going for us this election, we should have been able to pick off that festering turd Boxer.

Not in California.

Well, at least my job will be leaving the state, and I'll follow it.  Until then, it's going to be hell defending the RKBA in the Fool's Golden State.

I like to extend a welcoming hand to anyone that would be interested in moving to a free state like Indiana. Our taxes are fairly low compared to the East Coast and the left coast and we have a balanced budget. And we just signed a referendum to add a 1% property tax cap to our state constitution. Also we have lifetime license to carry for only $125 and we can have machine guns and suppressors.

Only suggestion is if you don't like snow I would suggest moving to the southern part of the state.

CF, do you mind if we use that term? Some people came to mind in Illinois when I read that post. In fact, my guts still hurt from laughing.

Of course.  However, based on common usage, it's probably a mixed metaphor.

But -- damn if it doesn't fit that brainless harpy.

But I think AZ would love to have your business be here instead of in CA Wink.

If somebody doesn't stop the madness in California then it will infect the whole country like a tumor.

That's why I donate to the Calguns foundation even though I live in Arkansas.

There's a scary thought! Even here in the Soviet State of Illinois we managed to elect some republicans, much to the chagrin of the Emanual crowd. Daley is probably laughing his tush off, as he is retiring and Rahm is taking over (?wonder just how much pressure there was from DC to get that done - and how much Daley was crying, "Please don't throw me in the br'ar bush!" as it was going on.)

There's a weird sense of "everything will be okay if I close my eyes and ignore it" from my friends in California. One is a doctor and another is a software guy. They are otherwise wonderful people who insist on voting for Jerry Clown and Barbara Boxer. I don't get it.

Thanks Chaz! We appreciate -- and need -- the support.

Cali has been a one party state for about 30 years now.  And it's not getting any better.  There is very little notice given to political questions because there's no contention, no controversy, only the one view and the one certain outcome. And those in the media (failed B-Movie queens and waitresses) are usually more liberal than even the hippies in government. As a result, the citizens seem to sleepwalk through the political process.

Sorry for the late reply but I've been busy closing down a business (but the recession was over in June 2009!) here the Peoples Republic of California.

The only bright spot for Californians was that the Republicans took control of the House, and Pelosi is out as speaker.  (She was re-elected by an 80% margin in her district-go figure!)

Jerry Brown (aka Moonbeam), Gavin Newsome (are you kidding me?), Kamala Harris as Attorney General (of San Francisco fame), Boxer, and a proposition that lets the party in control (read Democrats) pass a budget with a simple majority.

I agree with the other posts-we in California are screwed.  This state is bankrupt, and now will only get worse.  Problem is the people here are too stupid to realize it.  Maybe I'd see things differently if I didn't work and was on welfare.

Time to leave for me as well.
