Looking through the administrative error logs this morning I noticed an increase in incorrect password entries. What I would like to know is if any of you are having problems with the forums or is it just a mistake on your part?

TIP: You can eliminate having to type in your password every time if you use the login button on the toolbar. Type in your username and password and then check the box "Always Stay logged in" and click enter. You should not have to reenter your password  each time you visit the forums.

I'm good for 4 or 5 of those per day, so depending how many you are getting, it may just be me. Some conflict between your site and Safari and Keychain Access on my iMac. For some reason with your site, my auto login records ******** instead of the actual password. So it puts that in the next time I login, then your site records a invalid password, dumps me to new screen and I just put in my password.

I have the habit of logging out of every site I visit, that has a logout. So the work around for your site is as you said just always stay logged in. So I will stop logging out and that should lower your error log.

BTW, you should have seen about a dozen this afternoon, I was checking things out at my end.

The password reset function on most forums and the like is an invaluable tool for me.  I tend to forget easily.

You may want to try using a password manager. I have been using one for years and I cannot do without them. If you need some suggestions for some good ones, just let me know.

Yeah, I dunno what the deal is but... sometimes it seems as though even when I actually take...my...time...to enter the password correctly, it denies me.  This happens when I enter in my ID and pass where you have your "red X" in your picture above...  also, when using this section to log on for a "day" I've experienced being logged off unexpectedly after only a couple minutes. To add to what you have advised, I've noticed that using the "Login" button and using that section elliminates these two types of issues i've experienced. Hope this helps.

Hey Mark,

Something does seem to be fishy. My auto-password population failed in both the quick login, and going to the login page. But worked when I re-typed manually.

Ditto what Hunter said for me, though a lot of those were logging in on my phone. The new software seems to have reduced em on my part...

I tend to just check the keep logged in button. Which is good for ease of use, but sometimes I forget what password i use where if something happens and I get logged out for whatever reason. If anyone is having problems remembering passwords, my I suggest a quick read of my thread on making a strong password that is easy to remember.    http://gunrightsradio.com/forums2/index.php/topic,4657.0.html
Course, it doesn't help if you let the computer do the remembering for you like I do sometimes.  Roll Eyes
